Verimi - Verification for payment by direct debit

Why do you need to verify your account number?

The direct debit procedure in online retail is increasingly affected by fraud. Stolen or accidental account details are often used. The financial losses are borne by both the account holder and the merchant - in our case Hochbahn. To counteract this, you now have the option of securely verifying your bank details when making a direct debit payment (SEPA). This protects you from unauthorized access to your account and us from fraudulent transactions.

What is Verimi?

Verimi is a European identity and trust platform that allows you to securely verify your identity online and store and share personal data such as ID cards, bank details or digital signatures. It serves as a central interface for various digital services such as logins, digital signatures and payments.

The platform meets high data protection standards and is supported by leading companies such as banks, insurance companies and telecommunications providers. With Verimi, you can securely log in to online services or confirm your identity - without having to re-enter your data every time.

Verimi also offers customized solutions for digital identity management, including a secure verification procedure for the use of account numbers for direct debits. These solutions are specially adapted to the needs of each company and seamlessly integrated into existing payment processes.

How does verification via Verimi work?

In order to use your IBAN for the direct debit procedure, it must first be verified. Only after successful authentication of your account number will you be activated for direct debit payments.

To do this, we use Verimi's Bankident procedure in cooperation with our payment service provider Logpay:

Verimi uses the Bankident procedure to check whether you have authorized access to your bank account. All you need is access to your online banking (this may need to be activated at your bank). During the payment process you will be asked to log into your bank account. Once you have successfully logged in, Verimi will receive the name of the account holder, IBAN and BIC from your bank. This confirms that you have access to your account and enables you to use the SEPA direct debit scheme.

You can find more information here.

Important to know:

  • Your access data will not be saved and will only be used once.
  • We only receive the information that you have successfully registered and verified yourself.
  • We do not get access to your account or any other information, such as turnover or account balance.

Use Verimi to verify your account details securely and easily!
