No. Only the person who has registered with the hvv switch app is permitted to use it.
While some services that you can purchase in the hvv switch app are debited from your PayPal account straight away (like hvv tickets, for example), in the case of other services an amount is authorised with PayPal at the moment of the binding booking. In the case of MOIA, this is the fare, which you are shown before the journey begins. In the case of sharing services, this is an amount that is charged at the actual end price after the rental has ended. For technical reasons, it might be the case that after cancelling a booking for free the reserved amount will remain in your PayPal account for some time, even though no costs have been incurred. This authorisation will be deleted again without a debit being made, after a period of 28 days at the latest.
Renting SIXT share cars using the hvv switch app is only possible within the SIXT share service region in Hamburg. However, you are permitted to drive outside of this service region and even abroad. A detailed list of countries where you are permitted to drive can be found in the SIXT General Terms and Conditions.
You can only end the rental in the same country in which the vehicle was originally rented, however. But this can also be outside Hamburg, within a SIXT share service region in another city, or at a SIXT share station.
The switchh card can still be used to unlock and lock cambio vehicles.
If you’d like to rent StadtRAD bikes, please use either the StadtRAD app or the terminal at the StadtRAD station. You also have the option of renting the bikes by phone. Simply call the Hamburg landline shown on the StadtRAD bike itself. The voice menu gives a quick and simple way to rent the bike. For more information, please visit the StadtRAD website.
Your current tickets and bookings can be found at the top of your dashboard in the hvv switch app. You can access an overview of all your bookings and tickets under the usage history menu. Please note that you won’t have access to the detailed view of past bookings and tickets that are no longer valid. Please also note that only those tickets are displayed that you’ve purchased using the hvv switch app. It’s not connected to any other hvv account.
Unfortunately not. There aren’t any special rates for hvv subscription holders in the hvv switch app.
This is not an error. This feature has been deliberately built into the app.
- It might be the case that one of the two cars is already being rented by another user. Or, in the case of an electric car, the battery might be flat and that is why it is not displayed in the app.
- The app only displays different cars within a radius of 1 km. In the case of similar vehicle types of a particular mobility provider, only the one that is closest to the app user will be shown.
By the way, once 5 specific vehicle options have been shown, the customer can access a new map display on the sixth screen (“Nothing for you?”) where all available cars are displayed. So if both cars mentioned are free and available, you will be able to find both on the map this way.
Yes, the airport is located within the MOIA service region. The stop at the airport is located on the special lane in front of Terminal 2 on the arrivals level, behind the second S-Bahn tunnel.
You can validate your driving licence from the comfort of your own home, using the online validation procedure with video identification. As soon as you select the SIXT share or MILES vehicle you want, you will be forwarded directly to the activation/validation process when you first try to rent that vehicle. The online validation itself takes the form of a video call. The whole process is completed in just a few minutes. If you still have an old non-digital driving licence (grey in colour in Germany) or would simply prefer to have your licence validated in person, this is also an option with one of our team at a hvv service point. You can find the nearest one to you here.
Currently, users of our mobility partner SHARE NOW can use the charging infrastructure.
