No. Smoking is not permitted in the rental cars.
Renting SIXT share cars using the hvv switch app is only possible within the SIXT share service region in Hamburg. However, you are permitted to drive outside of this service region and even abroad. A detailed list of countries where you are permitted to drive can be found in the SIXT General Terms and Conditions.
You can only end the rental in the same country in which the vehicle was originally rented, however. But this can also be outside Hamburg, within a SIXT share service region in another city, or at a SIXT share station.
You are permitted to park a rented SIXT share or MILES car outside the service region. The same general regulations apply here as when you park any private vehicle, and parking fees must be paid yourself. Please note that the rental fee for the vehicle will include the time spent parked, and that corresponding costs will be incurred.
Unfortunately not. SIXT share and MILES cars do not currently have child seats or booster seats.
Unfortunately there is not yet a refuelling or recharging function in the app. If you urgently need fuel for your car, e.g. to get back to the service region, you will have to pay for the fuel costs privately. After your journey, please submit the receipts to email@example.com, stating the booking number, registration number and bank account details. Once successfully verified, the fuel costs will be reimbursed to you by SIXT.
Important to know: Filling up the tank will not be rewarded with free minutes or any other comparable incentives.
Unfortunately, it is not possible at present to charge e-vehicles, either at hvv switch points or at public charging stations.
You must be in possession of valid documents and show validation to be able to make use of car sharing services. Whenever you receive new ID documents, you should have them re-validated straight away, or just before you start your journey at the latest.
If you want to rent cars using the hvv switch app, we are obliged by the affiliated providers of these services to ensure that you are in possession of a valid driving licence. Cars can only be booked and used if all the security criteria have been met and verified in the form of a validation process.
There might be several reasons why certain information is not displayed. It could be that there are no cars in your area at that particular time. Or that your Internet connection is not stable enough to load cars. If you think it is due to a technical error, please contact hvv switch customer service.
While some services that you can purchase in the hvv switch app are debited from your PayPal account straight away (like hvv tickets, for example), in the case of other services an amount is authorised with PayPal at the moment of the binding booking. In the case of MOIA, this is the fare, which you are shown before the journey begins. In the case of sharing services, this is an amount that is charged at the actual end price after the rental has ended. For technical reasons, it might be the case that after cancelling a booking for free the reserved amount will remain in your PayPal account for some time, even though no costs have been incurred. This authorisation will be deleted again without a debit being made, after a period of 28 days at the latest.
