SIXT share, Free2move & cambio

The vehicle registration document is located in the glove compartment of SIXT share, Free2move & cambio cars.

MILES

For administrative reasons, no copies of the vehicle registration document are stored in MILES cars. If necessary (e.B. at a police check) they will be provided by email.

You can park in any publicly accessible parking lot in a city, the hvv switch points and in the designated areas at Hamburg Airport. Please be sure to use a parking disk in “parking disk zones”. A parking ticket is not required here. In designated “parking disk zones” the parking time is also limited. Please use the parking disk in your car and display it visibly. The rental cannot be terminated in “parking disk zones”, but interim parking is possible.

In principle, the parking guidelines apply in accordance with the local road traffic regulations.

The hvv switch points are displayed in the car sharing section of the app on the map view as a red pin with a hvv switch icon. If you have not rented a car at the moment, it works like this: A small number on the pin shows you the number of cars that are bookable via the hvv switch app.

Clicking on the hvv switch dot will show you the name and address of the hvv switch dot as well as details about the cars that can be booked. The available cars can be clicked on. This way you can get detailed information and also start a reservation or rental if needed.

You will be shown the walking distance and the distance to the hvv switch point directly in the app on the map.

If you are currently traveling in a rented car, this is how it works:

During an ongoing reservation or rental, the view of the pins changes in the app: The simple number at the top right of the pin (rentable cars) becomes a "PX". The "X" in "PX" stands for the number of free parking spaces on the hvv switch points to help you find a free parking space.

When you find or are shown a hvv switch point with charging infrastructure, you will notice another number on the pin, one with a lightning symbol. This number indicates how many charging points are currently free at the hvv switch point.

The hvv switch app only shows you those cars that can be booked using the hvv switch app. Cars from other providers may legally park at hvv switch points, meaning that cars parked at a certain hvv switch point might not be displayed in the app.

With MILES, you can refuel cars that are travelling with a fuel level of less than 25% via the hvv switch app - and it's easy to do digitally. To ensure that MILES covers the refuelling costs, you can only use the petrol stations shown on the map in the hvv switch app. Select a petrol station on the map and start the refuelling process via the hvv switch app. Please note: With hvv switch, refuelling processes are not reimbursed.

If your rental cannot be completed due to a low fuel level (less than 5%), please contact MILES customer service directly on (030) 8379-5103.

The cars of MILES are covered by liability insurance. Should an accident occur, the deductible in the event of a claim, depending on the category of the car is

  • S: 900 EUR
  • M: 900 EUR
  • L: 1000 EUR
  • XL: 1000 EUR
  • P: 1000 EUR

The deductible applies per claim.

With MILES, the calculation is made for kilometres driven in the standard tariff. In the hvv switch app, driven kilometers and not the time driven are displayed. In addition, there is an "unlocking fee" of 1 euro to reduce the deductible in the event of damage. This fee is mandatory.

When parking mode is activated via the app, all doors of the car are automatically locked. The MILES car is only available to you and cannot be rented by other drivers. However, billing in parking mode is based on a price per minute. For vans, the loading and unloading times are billed as parking minutes.

You can switch to parking mode at any time as soon as the vehicle is parked. When switching to parking mode, the app also points out the costs of the parking tariff. Please note that when activating the parking mode, the car will be locked.

In the event that you have forgotten to set the parking mode and all conditions are met (ignition off, windows / doors closed), the car will be automatically put into parking mode after about two to five minutes. However, billing in parking mode is based on the price per minute.

After about 20 more minutes without action, the rental is automatically terminated in the app, provided that the car is in the MILES business area.

Outside the business area you can park a MILES car only for a stopover during your rental, but not end the rental there.

If you want to make a stopover outside the business area in a paid parking lot, the purchase of a valid parking ticket is required. These costs will not be reimbursed by MILES.

Important note: In underground garages or other covered parking garages you cannot park with MILES!

In order to use services that require a driving licence, your driving licence must be checked at regular intervals. We are obliged to check the validity of your licence at least every two years. Once you have re-validated your licence, the validity date for all services requiring a licence will be adjusted and you will be able to use them again immediately.
