FAQ
Free2move
Unfortunately, we are not yet able to offer you a refueling or charging function for Free2move vehicles within the app.
Charging
You can charge the Free2move e-cars with the charging card in the car. You can find out exactly how to do this here.
Refueling
If you urgently need fuel for your car, e.g. to get back to the business area, the fuel costs must be paid privately. Send the receipts to hallo@free2move.com after the journey, stating the booking number, license plate number and account details. After successful verification, the fuel costs will be reimbursed by Free2move. However, the check may take some time - please be patient.
Important for you to know: Charging and refueling cars at hvv switch is not incentivized by e.g. free minutes or credits or similar.
Free2move cars are covered by liability insurance. In the event of an accident, the excess in the event of a claim is 1,000 euros.
The excess applies per claim. You can find more information here.
Outside the business area, you can only park a carsharing car for a stopover during your rental, but you cannot end the rental there.
If you want to make a stopover in a paid parking lot outside the business area, you will need to purchase a valid parking ticket. These costs will not be reimbursed by carsharing providers.
Please note: You cannot park in underground garages or other covered parking garages with carsharing cars!
Drop-off zones are part of the Free2move business area. A drop-off fee is charged if you park the car in drop-off zones and end your journey there. In some cases, a fee is also charged if you start your rental from a drop-off zone.
You can find out more about Free2move's drop-off zones and drop-off fees here.
The stickers show you which car sharing providers are authorised to use the hvv switch point. Use may vary depending on the provider and location: If the hvv switch point is located within the business area of the car sharing provider, the rental can be started, ended and also temporarily stopped there. If the hvv switch point is outside the business area, you can only stop temporarily. Your current rental cannot then be cancelled. With cars from the station-based car sharing providers cambio & Dorfstromer, you can stop off anywhere, regardless of the sticker.
Tip: The business areas of MILES, SIXT share and Free2move are displayed in the hvv switch app once you have selected a car.

No. Provisional driving licenses and ID cards are not accepted for use of the car sharing services in the hvv switch app.
Validations can only be carried out with driving licenses in card format. If you still have a paper driver's license, please exchange it for a plastic card. You can find all information about the exchange deadlines here.
You can view your stored driving license data in the driving license section of your profile and adjust it if necessary. If you have already been validated with your old driving license data, adjusting your driving license data will initially result in your validation being withdrawn. You can then simply carry out a new validation with the new driving license data in order to be able to use the services requiring a driving license again.
